Helpful Hints

  • Parents, the membership must be in the rower’s name, with the rower’s birthdate but the email address may be yours.  Please consider what email address to use as the email address will be used for password recovery if the password is lost.

  • Note for Novice Parents: Novice rowers who join Jackson-Reed Crew in the fall season will need to join USRowing and sign a waiver in the fall/winter of their novice year, then renew each year.

SafeSport Training

Every year, Jackson-Reed Crew requires all rowers to complete the online Safe Sport training appropriate for their age. Safe Sport describes the course as educating "high school age athletes about bullying and hazing prevention, tips for positive online interactions, and reporting of sexual abuse and misconduct."  For athletes under 18, please take the 15-minute Safe Sport for Youth Athletes online training.  Rowers who are 18+ are required by USRowing to complete the 30-minute Abuse Prevention for Adult Athletes instead.

To access the training, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into your USRowing account
  2. Select SafeSport from the icons on the left side of the screen. This will take you to the SafeSport site.
  3. From the course catalog, select Safe Sport for Young Athletes or SafeSport Abuse Prevention for Adult Athletes" At the end of the training, please take a screenshot of the certificate, in case your USRowing account doesn’t show the record.
  4. If you have taken the course within the past 12 months, the course may not be visible in your landing page. Don’t worry - our records show you have taken it this year.  You will need to re-take when it has been more than 12 months since the last training.
